How long should good sex last: research scientists

Singles or couples: we all can't do without the most beautiful thing in the world. But how long should good sex last?

It not only makes us happy, but also strengthens our self-esteem: sex. We cannot and do not want to imagine life without one of the most beautiful pleasures. But there is one important question that keeps on puzzling scientists: how long should good sex last?

If we look at erotic novels or Fifty Shades of Grey-style films, we will surely notice that sex lasts incredibly long and is accompanied by countless orgasms. To be honest, hardly any of us have ever experienced this in real life. Even short sex can be good and memorable. However, it is interesting to know how long it takes to have really great sex. A survey from the United States revealed this mystery.

This is how long good sex should last

Pleasant conversations, common interests, fun and pleasure: things that are very important for the normal functioning of a relationship. But one more aspect must satisfy both partners: sex. Not only in partnership, but in general, sex plays an important role in a person's life. Not surprisingly, scientists are interested in its optimal duration.

On average, sexual intercourse lasts 5 minutes and 40 seconds - these are the data collected around the world. It doesn't sound like much at first. However, much depends on the sensations and pleasure that sex brings. The result of the Penn State University study helped scientists learn other details. They studied the time period by which sex is classified as too long, too short, and desirable .

The study was conducted by more than 30 sexologists from Canada and the USA. They gave their assessments to the research question "How long does good sex last?". And they came to a result that did not make a splash. According to sex therapists, intercourse that only takes 1-2 minutes is considered too short. No wonder, because the sex had just begun and ended immediately. Sex lasting between 3 and 7 minutes is considered "more or less". Participants found lovemaking lasting between 7 and 13 minutes to be desirable. The opposite of short sex has also been explored. Study participants categorized sexual intercourse that lasted 10 to 30 minutes as too long.

In the end, it doesn't matter how many minutes you spend in bed with your loved one. The main thing is that you feel comfortable, and sex does what it should: it gives pleasure and gives a feeling of intimacy.
