Companies began to worry about surveillance standards

The erotic products market had an increase in the last year, moving about R$2 billion reais, according to a survey by the Brazilian Association of Erotic and Sensual Market Companies (Abeme). The number of entrepreneurs in the sector tripled and some stores operated mainly online quadrupled their sales.

The Erotic Market portal carried out a survey between March and May 2020, which showed that the purchase of vibrators grew by 50% in this period alone, and many stores ended up running out of stock. And it wasn't just singles who looked for toys: in the US, 43% of couples used sex toys during confinement.

Unfortunately, despite the growing interest of the population in sex toys, most of them have products with substances that are harmful to constant exposure through skin contact and inhalation. Disappointed with the quality of the erotic market in Brazil, Monster D, a fantasy sex toys company led by Renata Padovez, decided to invest in products that value the intimate health of consumers.

After a lot of research, Monster D chose to be within sanitary standards and to obtain sustainable materials. Decided, they found Silicone Platinum and imported it from one of the best manufacturers in the world. They obtained the ROHS, a renowned International Quality Certificate that proves the origin and purity of the raw material, without any indication of irregularity and danger to health, making them the only company with this proven certification. ROHS stands for “Restriction of Certain Hazardous Substances” and prohibits the use of six substances, including cadmium, mercury, lead and phthalates (DEHP, BBP, DBP and DIBP), making them a BPA Free company.

According to porn activist Peter Phinney, who fights piracy in the erotic market, many sex toys are manufactured and marketed under the same brands as others, but sold at much lower prices. Thus, they do not care about the hygienic conditions of the products, nor whether they may present any health risk. That's why the

That's why the market is saturated with non-standard toys and most of those who use these products don't know about this information because it's something relatively new for the population.

Monster D chose a material that is not rejected by the body. Breast implants, used by clinics that comply with health regulations, are also made from this material. It is understood then that it is extremely resistant, being able to last a lifetime, and allowing people to make collections of its various types, formats and colors.

Sanitary control is extremely important in all products used by humans. While we don't have strong surveillance on sex toys, it is recommended to research the products we buy. Monster D made an assertive choice when opting for Silicone Platinum, as this material is hypoallergenic, has no porosity, is easy to maintain and has very high durability. Some users complain about sex toys when they get sticky or if they create odors over time, something that Silicone Platinum doesn't allow to happen. If it is well sanitized before and after use, it will not create fungi and bacteria.

It is important for the population to know that erotic toys are also screened by the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) in order to reach the shelves, and whoever buys them is protected by Consumer Rights, in case any type of situation happens.
